Senior Software Engineer - Payment (80-100%)

The Value Stream Payment is a pioneering competence center, that unites professionals from different backgrounds. Together we guide the development and continuous improvement of a high-performance, scalable and secure payment system.

In pursuit of our vision, we are searching for Senior Software Engineers, based in Zurich or Bern with the flexibility of Home Office.

Your impact at TWINT:  

• Continuous development of our payment functionalities to ensure a smooth and reliable payment experience for millions of users across Switzerland

• Technical ownership of new features from conception and implementation through to operation

• Enablement of teammates during sprints and active contribution to continuous improvement within the team

• Focus on clean, maintainable code and code reviews to ensure high quality standards

• Analysis of complex technical issues, incident management in cooperation with internal and external partners, and development of sustainable solutions

• Promotion of a strong test automation mindset within the team

• Strengthening of system performance and observability using tools such as Datadog, Kibana or Grafana

• Contribution to the evolution of our technology stack and architecture, with a focus on performance, reliability and scalability

Your Profile: 

• Technical Degree at a University or FH or comparable education

• Profound, multi-year practical and project experience in software engineering in a business and technically complex environment

• Very good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Gradle, Git and Github Action

• Solid experience with Hibernate, RESTful API, SQL, Kafka, Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with application performance monitoring and log analysis, as well as with the implementation of performance optimizations

• Experience in processing credit card payments is a big plus

• Availability to standby for special assignments and on-call duties

• Good understanding of agile development methodologies and a DevSecOps mindset

• Testing experience including automated testing at different levels, Test-Driven Development and frameworks such as JUnit

• Fluent English, German is an advantage
